In Tennis, Fourth seed Daniil Medvedev won his all-Russian quarter-final against seventh seed Andrey Rublev in straight sets 7-5, 6-3, 6-2. Medvedev spent just two hours and five minutes on court, which can only be a good thing for him ahead of his semi-final showdown with either fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas or 20-time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal on Friday evening. That’s 19 wins on the trot for Medvedev and he makes his first appearance in the final four at Melbourne Park.
Barty has been dumped out of the Australian Open in a massive quarter-final upset to 25th seed Czech Karolina Muchova.
World No. 1 Barty demolished a struggling Muchova 6-1 in a 24-minute first set before the wheels fell off after Muchova took a controversial 10-minute medical time out while down a break early in the second set. Muchová will return tomorrow to play Jennifer Brady.

In other fixtures, Serena Williams will face off Naomi Osaka tomorrow for a spot in the final. Williams who is seeking a record-tying 24th major singles championship, defeated second seed Simona Halep 6-3, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.
