Dhoni to open cricket academy in Singapore

MS Dhoni is expanding the reach of cricket around the world. He is teaming up with the men and women’s cricket teams of Singapore to open a cricket academy.

The initiative intends to promote cricket at the grassroots level. 

The former Indian skipper will be in Singapore on January 20 to officiate the opening ceremony and will also interact with the students who have signed up to the academy.

Dhoni aims to establish up to 12 other academies in Asia. Recently he inaugurated his first cricket academy in UAE.

"Sports should be an essential driver for the development of a child’s character. Apart from



being fit, you can learn leadership and other important aspects of life via sports. Every kid should play an outdoor sport. MS Dhoni Cricket Academy is not only about producing cricket talent but our academy’s vision is to guide a kid to become a champion in life via sports," said MS Dhoni.

The MS Dhoni Cricket Academy is the second academy outside of India and gives children and adults the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the game.

The academy will follow a structured curriculum developed by Dhoni while Singapore cricket legends, Chetan Suryavanshi, Chaminda Ruwan and Diviya GK, will work with Dhoni to implement his curriculum.
