Duleep Trophy cricket tournament will begin today in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. India Green will take on the India Red in the opening encounter at the newly constructed International Cricket stadium.
After a gap of almost 12 years State Capital is now going to witness a Big Cricket tournament like Duleep Trophy and that too in its first international cricket stadium with pink cricket ball and flood lights on.
The Duleep Trophy 2017 season will commence at the newly built Ekana International stadium which will host the opening and the final match while Kanpur’s
Green Park stadium will host the other two games.
Big cricket stars like Dinesh Kartik, Ashok Dinda, Karn Sharma, karun nair and parvez rasool are already in the city for the opening match.India Red captain Abhinav mukund may miss today's match as he is reportedly down with swine flu. It would be for the second time that cricket fans in Uttar Pradesh will see the use of pink ball in the Duleep Trophy. In the 55-year-old history of the Duleep Trophy, Uttar Pradesh hosted the tournament last season when it was played at the Greater Noida Sports Complex ground.
