In Football, India’s run at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup came to an end as they went down 0-4 against two-time champions Ghana in their final group A match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi last night. In their earlier matches, India lost to US and Colombia. 

In the other Group A game yesterday, Colombia beat United States 3-1 in Mumbai. With this win Ghana have entered the knockout stage after topping the Group A on goal difference while Colombia are second and US at third.

African champions Mali also entered the knock-out rounds of the tournament with a 3-1 win over New Zealand in



their final group B game. In the other Group B match, Paraguay defeated Turkey 3-1. With the win, Mali finished second in Group B while Paraguay tops the group with an all-win record. Iran from Group C, Brazil from Group D, France from Group E and England from Group F have also made it to the knockout stage.

In Group C matches today, Costa Rica will meet Iran in Goa while Guinea will take on Germany at Kochi. Both matches will be held at 5 in the evening. In the two Group D encounters, Niger will face Brazil in Goa while Spain will play against North Korea at Kochi. Both matches will be played at 8 pm.
