The International Hockey Federation (FIH) yesterday announced the pools and match schedule for the men's Hockey World Cup to be held in Bhubaneswar from November 28 to December 16. The 19-day competition will see 16 teams fight it out for the coveted trophy.
The teams have been divided into four pools of four each. Pool A comprises Argentina, Spain, New Zealand and France. Pool B features Australia,England, Ireland and China. Hosts India are placed in Pool C with Belgium,
Canada and South Africa. Pool D features the Netherlands, Germany, Malaysia and Pakistan.
Two matches will be played each day, one at 5 p.m. and the other at 7 p.m.
The quarter-finals will be played on December 12 and 13 and the semi-finals on December 15.
The final will be played on December 16. India will start their Hockey World Cup campaign on November 28 when they take on South Africa.
