India thrashed lowly Fiji 11-0 to storm into the semifinals of the FIH Women's Series Finals hockey tournament in Hiroshima, Japan yesterday. Gurjit Kaur slammed four goals, including a hat-trick.
She struck in the 15th, 19th, 21st and 22nd minutes, while Monika scored a brace in the 11th and 33rd minutes for India in the Pool A match. Lalremsiami, Rani Rampal, Vandana Katariya, Lilima Minz and Navneet Kaur were also among the goal scorers for the winners.

India dominated their opponents throughout the match, allowing Fiji to only have one circle entry in the entire 60 minutes, whilst making 74 entries into the opposition's striking area.
India will play their semifinal encounter on Saturday. The winner of the crossover match between Uruguay and the team that finishes second in Pool-B will face India in the semi-final. Chile leads the Pool with 6 points, while Russia and Japan are on three points each.
