Former Bayern Munich and France forward Franck Ribery took to social media to announce his retirement from professional football at the age of 39. "The ball stops. The feelings inside me do not. Thanks to everyone for this great adventure," Ribery wrote on Twitter.
Before both players left the club in 2019, Ribery and Arjen Robben had an outstanding wing connection in Munich, terrorising defences
from either flank.
Prior to his retirement from international football in 2014, Ribery had 81 caps for France, scoring 16 times. He was also a member of the Les Bleus team that placed second to Italy in the 2006 World Cup.
After leaving Germany, he moved to Fiorentina, where he made 51 appearances and contributed to five goals and nine assists until joining Salernitana in 2021.
