In the Men’s Hockey India League, UP Rudras defeated Team Gonasika 2-0 in a closely contested match and climbed to the top of the Hockey India League standings at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela, yesterday.

After a goalless first half, Tanguy Cosyns opened the scoring in the 37th minute with a penalty corner variation. Three minutes later, Russell doubled the lead with a powerful drag-flick that deflected off the goalkeeper. Despite Team Gonasika’s strong circle penetrations, the Rudras’ defence held firm in the final quarter to secure the victory and move to the top of the points



table.

In the Women’s Hockey India League, Odisha Warriors defeated JSW Soorma Hockey Club 2- nil in Ranchi, yesterday. Till the fourth quarter, both the teams were tied goalless and in the shootout, Odisha won by scoring two goals.

In today’s Women’s HIL action, the Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers will face off against the Delhi SG Pipers in Ranchi, with the match set to begin at 6:00 PM. Meanwhile, in the Men’s League, the JSW Soorma Hockey Club will take on the Delhi SG Pipers in Ranchi, starting at 8:15 PM.
