The President of Badminton Association of India (BAI), Himanta Biswa Sarma was yesterday elected as the Vice-President of Badminton Asia Confederation (BAC). The election took place during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the continental body in Bangkok, Thailand.
After the AGM, Mr Sarma thanked all the member bodies of BAC and vowed to contribute more for developing the sport in the region and
bringing in better coordination among Asian countries.
He said, his appointment as BAC Vice President was yet another proof of how India is perceived globally when it comes to growth of the sport and in providing visionary leadership. Congratulating Mr Sarma, BAI General Secretary Ajay Kumar Singhania said, this appointment will be a huge boost for Indian badminton.
