Indian shuttlers Malvika Bansod and Ayush Shetty advanced to the semi-finals of the Hylo Open Badminton tournament in Saarbrucken, Germany, yesterday. 

In the women’s singles quarter-finals, sixth-seeded Malvika Bansod defeated fourth-seeded Nguyen Thuy Linh of Vietnam. She will face Denmark’s Julie Dawall Jakobsen in the semi-finals today. Jakobsen beat



India’s 17-year-old Rakshitha Sree Santhosh Ramraj.

In the Men’s Singles, 19-year-old Ayush Shetty overcame Finland’s Kalle Koljonen. He will compete against Christo Popov of France today for a spot in the final. Popov received a walkover from India’s seventh-seeded Sathish Kumar Karunakaran, who withdrew before the match.
