Second seed Iga Swiatek's tremendous run in the Australian Open continued on Monday, January 20. Swiatek brought an end to Eva Lys brilliant run in the tournament. Lys, who qualified as the lucky loser in this edition's competition, lost in straight sets -- 6-0, 6-1.

The former World No.1 took just 59 minutes to beat her German opponent. Swiatek's powerful serving was on full display on Monday, as she won 81 per cent of points with her first serve. The Polish

player hit a total of 28 winners in the match, absolutely wrecking her 23-year-old opponent.

"I enjoyed it, which is the most important thing ... I'm still 23, so there's a lot to improve. I don't feel I'm at my peak. But these matches give me a lot of confidence. We don't know what's going to happen in the future, maybe I'll be better. I'm so glad I was able to play my game ... I'm feeling really comfortable and we're going well," Iga Swiatek said after the match.
