World No. 1 Iga Swiatek steamrolled her opponents to win her 2nd French Open title. The Polish superstar defeated 18-year-old American 18th seed Coco Gauff 6-1, 6-3 in a one-sided women's singles final at the Philippe Chatrier in Paris on Saturday, June 4.
Iga Swiatek, who had
become the first Pole to win a Grand Slam singles title when she lifted the Suzanne-Lenglen Cup in 2020, won her 2nd Roland Garros crowd in 3 years. Swiatek needed just an hour and 8 minutes to comfortably outclass Coco Gauff, who looked bogged down by the sense of occasion in front of a packed Paris crowd.
