The opening ceremony of the 14th Men's Hockey World Cup will be held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar this evening. Around 1,100 artists, star actors Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit and music composer AR Rahman are slated to perform at the ceremony.
The tournament will begin from tomorrow. 16 teams,
divided into four groups, will fight for the coveted title. India has been placed in Pool-C alongside Belgium, Canada and South Africa. Two-time defending champions Australia are in Group-B, Pakistan is in Pool-D. India will face South Africa in their opening game at 7 PM tomorrow.
