Indian men's hockey team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Belgium via penalty shootout in the final of the Four-Nations Invitational Tournament's second leg at Hamilton in New Zealand yesterday.At the end of the regulation time, the two teams were level at four goals each.
Felix Denayer, Sebastien Dockier and Arthur van Doren were the scorers for Belgium in the shootout.
Before
the shootout, Ramandeep Singh scored twice for India in the 29th 53th minutes.
The other two goals for the team came through Nilakanta Sharma in the 42 minute and Mandeep Singh in the 49th minute.
Earlier in the day, Japan beat hosts New Zealand 4-1 in the shootout for bronze after holding the Black Sticks to 1-1 in regulation time.
