Ravindra Jadeja claimed two wickets as Australia finished Day 4 on 23/2 in their second innings of the third Test match against India in Ranchi. The visitors trail by 129 runs. Earlier, Cheteshwar Pujara slammed the third double ton of his Test career as India declared their first innings on 603/9 to take a lead of 152 runs. Wriddhiman Saha provided able support to Pujara and in the process, scored his 3rd Test century while Ravindra Jadeja made a quick-fire fifty to guide his team to a commendable total.
It was a great day for India as their batsmen performed brilliantly and Jadeja’s double strike have turned the match completely in their
favour.
“I have the experience of scoring big runs in domestic cricket,” says Cheteshwar Pujara. “The experience matters a lot. You look at the bigger picture. When I was batting, I thought we just wanted to get close to their total somehow. I had to restrict myself at times I could have played more shots, but I had to control myself. Didn’t want to lose my wicket. We communicate with each other. We have played a lot of cricket together. We know each other really well, even off the field. We spend a lot of time together so the understanding is there. I am very confident our spinners will bowl really well. There is rough, there are cracks...”
