The six-member Indian Aerobic Gymnastics team has left for Tokyo to participate in the Suzuki Aerobics Gymnastics World Cup 2025, which will be held from April 25 to 27. The prestigious event is organised by the Federation Internationale de Gymnastics (FIG) and the International Aerobics Federation, Japan.
Coaches Shashank Bidiwal from Gujarat and SP Singh from Jammu & Kashmir will accompany the team, along with Dr. Makarand Joshi and Yamanam Ranjan, who are serving as team head and judges. Dr. Joshi, India’s most experienced international judge, recently earned a Category III ranking at the International Judges Examination in the
Philippines and has been selected as a World Cup judge for the third year in a row.
Several dignitaries, including Sudhir Mittal, President of the Gymnastics Federation of India, and officials from the Sports Authority of India, congratulated the athletes before their departure.
Athletes from 19 countries will compete in the event, which is part of the FIG’s annual international series. Among the top names to watch are Japan’s Riri Kitazume and Mizuki Saito, current world champions in the Individual and Pairs categories, who will perform on home ground.
