In Hockey, the Indian men’s hockey team earned their first points in the FIH Pro League with a 2-0 win over Spain at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar last evening. After losing 1-3 in the first leg, India dominated their return match yesterday. Mandeep Singh scored in the 32nd minute, followed by Dilpreet Singh in the 39th minute. 

Despite several missed chances in the first half, India controlled possession. Goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak made crucial saves, while the defense held strong without captain Harmanpreet

In the women’s match, India lost 1-2 in a shootout to England after a 2-2 draw in regulation time. Navneet Kaur and Rutuja Pisal scored for India, while Paige Gillot and Tessa Howard scored for England.

In the shootout, only Navneet scored for India, while Lily Walker and Sophie Hamilton secured the win for England. India had won the first leg 3-2. The Indian women’s team will play Spain tomorrow.
