The Indian Women's cricket team today lifted the Asia Cup Twenty-20 tournament after defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by 17 runs in the final played at Bangkok.
Opting to bat, India had posted 121 for 5 in the stipulated 20 overs riding on opener Mithali Raj's unbeaten 73. Then, with the ball, the Women in Blue restricted Pakistan for 104 for
6. Ekta Bisht bagged the maximum of two wickets.
The Indian eves had reached the final of the six-team tournament, with 10 points, after winning all of their five round-robin matches. Pakistan, with eight points, were second having won four of their five games. In the round-robin stage, India had defeated Pakistan by five wickets.
