The Indian Women Compound team will lock horns with France in the Gold medal clash at World Cup Stage-4 in Berlin today. The trio of Trisha Deb, Jyothi Vennam and Muskan Kirar had stormed into the Final on Thursday, assuring India of at least a Silver medal, after they stunned top seed Turkey, 231-228. The fifth-placed Indian team had defeated Great Britain in the opening round, before beating the US in the second round.
In the Compound Mixed
event, the pair of Jyothi and Abhishek Verma kept India in the hunt for a second medal as it advanced to the Bronze medal play-off yesterday. They ousted top seed the Netherlands 158-155 in the quarterfinals. The pair will face Turkish Archers for the Bronze medal today.
Meanwhile, the Recurve Archers continued their poor show at the event yesterday as they made a quarterfinal exit in the Mixed pair event.
