Indonesia Masters: Lakshya Sen advances to 2nd round; Sindhu crashes out

In the Indonesia Masters Super 500 badminton tournament, ace Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen will face Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto in the second round of the Men’s Singles event. Lakshya advanced after defeating Japan’s Takuma Obayashi in straight games yesterday. 

In Men’s Doubles, India’s star duo Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy are set to take on the Thai pair of Kittinupong Kedren and Dechapol Puavaranukroh in the second round today. 

In Mixed Doubles, the Indian pair of Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila will compete against Malaysia’s Pang Ron Hoo and Su Yin



Cheng in the second round. The duo progressed after a straight-game victory over Indonesia’s Adnan Maulana and Indah Cahya Sari Jamil in the opening round. 

Tanisha Crasto is also featuring in the Women’s Doubles, partnering with the experienced Ashwini Ponnappa. The Indian pair will face Malaysia’s Pei Kee Go and Mei Xing Teoh in the second round today. 

In Women’s Singles, PV Sindhu suffered a disappointing start to her campaign, losing her opening-round match against Vietnam’s T.L. Nguyen last evening.
