Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) posted a mammoth total of 230/3 in their must-win IPL 2017 clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Skipper Glenn Maxwell scored a quickfire 27 off 21 balls, while opener Martin Guptill also chipped in with a crucial 36.
For MI, who are on 18 points from 12 games, the aim is to maintain their top position going into the
play-offs.
For KXIP, a loss against Mumbai Indians will mean that KKR (16 points from 13 games), RPS (16 from 12 games) and defending champions SRH (15 points from 13 games) will reach the playoffs even before playing their respective last league games.
A loss tonight will mean Kings XI Punjab at best can get to 14 points which won't benefit them.
