Ace Indian shooter Parth Rakesh Mane picked up a double gold in the 10m air rifle along with winning the men’s team event on day three of the ongoing International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Championship in Lima, Peru.

After winning the 10m air rifle individual title, Parth, combining with Ajay Malik and Abhinav Shaw, won gold in the 10m air rifle men’s team event. India’s third gold of the day came when Gautami Bhanot, Sambhavi Kshirsagar and Anoushka Thakur won the junior women’s 10m air rifle team event.
     
Parth Mane’s effort was the highlight of the day, as he shot 250.7 in the 24-shot final to pip reigning junior Asian champion Huang Liwanlin of China by



0.7.
     
Parth’s compatriots, the in-form Ajay Malik and the seasoned at-15 Abhinav Shaw, finished fifth and seventh, respectively. Ajay went down in shoot-off to Lindgren to finish with 186.7, while Abhinav bowed out in seventh with 144.2. With five gold medals till date, India continues to lead the overall medal tally at the championship.

At the ISSF junior world championship in Peru, India is leading the tally with 14 medals including 10 Gold, a Silver and three Bronze. The USA is at the second place, while Italy holds the third spot. China, with three medals, is currently in fourth place. The championships which include rifle, pistol, and shotgun events will end on 6 October 2024.
