In the Kho Kho World Cup 2025, both the Indian men’s and women’s teams showcased exceptional performances to advance to the quarterfinals at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi yesterday. The Indian men’s team secured a commanding 70-38 victory against Peru. They dominated right from Turn 1, maintaining momentum through Turn 2, thanks to outstanding contributions from Aditya Ganpule, Siva Reddy, and Sachin Bhargo. India continued their dominance in Turns 3 and 4, ending with a clinical 32-point win.
This victory not only secured their spot in the quarterfinals but also underscored their strong title aspirations. Aniket Pote was awarded Best Player, while Ramji Kashyap won the Best Attacker title. From the Peru squad, Geiner Vargas stood out as the Best Attacker. Meanwhile, the Indian women’s team delivered a stunning 100-16 victory against Iran to secure their quarterfinal berth. They began with their trademark aggressive approach, eliminating Iran’s first batch within just 33 seconds. Ashwini led the charge, while Meenu shone with multiple touchpoints, helping India score an impressive 50 points in Turn 1.
The Indian team’s dominance continued across all four turns, with a remarkable 6-minute-8-second Dream Run in Turn 3 sealing their win. Priyanka Ingle was named Best Player, while Meenu earned the title of Best Defender. From the Iranian team, Mobina was recognized as the Best Attacker.
