Kidambi Srikanth advances to semifinals of Hylo Open at Saarbrucken in Germany

Saarbrucken: In Badminton, Kidambi Srikanth cruised into the semifinals of the Hylo Open at Saarbrucken in Germany yesterday, November 4. The world no. 11 Indian shuttler defeated Indonesia’s Jonathan Christie 21-13, 21-19 in a match that lasted for 39 minutes.

Earlier, the women’s doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand advanced to the semifinals. The Indian duo emerged victorious over the Chinese Taipei



duo of Hsu Ya Ching and Lin Wan Ching, 21-17, 18-21, 21-8 in the quarterfinal of the tournament.

In men's doubles, the pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost to England's Ben Lane and Sean Vendy in straight games, 17-21, 14-21.

In Women's singles, Malvika Bansod lost her quarterfinal match to Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska 17-21, 10-21.
