Cricket at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games will be played in the T20 format, with six teams each competing in the Men’s and Women’s tournaments. The event programme and athlete quotas for LA 2028 were approved yesterday by the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The organisers announced that a total of 90 athlete quotas have been allocated for each gender,
allowing each team to field a 15-member squad. However, the venues for the cricket matches at LA 28 are yet to be finalised.
Cricket is one of the five new sports to feature at the upcoming Olympics. The IOC approved its inclusion two years ago, alongside baseball or softball, flag football, lacrosse (sixes), and squash.
