Mansi Ahlawat Wins Bronze in 59kg at U23 World Championships

In the U23 World Championships, being played in Tirana, Albania, Indian wrestler Mansi Ahlawat has won the bronze medal in the women’s 59kg category while in 65kg category, Manisha Bhanwala missed out in the repechage round match yesterday. Mansi defeated U23 World Championships gold medallist Solomiia Vynnyk 4-0 in the quarterfinal. 

Earlier, Mansi beat former World



Championships gold medallist Jacarra Winchester in the first round 2-1 and Tekin Eda of Turkey 3-0 in the Round of 16.  Manisha Bhanwala, who beat Irina Kazyulina in the Round of 16, suffered a 1-2 defeat to China’s Jia Long in the quarterfinal. In the 72kg category, Bipsha’s campaign ended in the qualification round as she lost to Anastasiya Alpyeyeva of Ukraine.
