Prague: Indian top men's doubles pair of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy suffered a shocking three-game defeat in the final of the USD 15,000 FZ Forza Prague Badminton Open on Sunday.
Top seeds Manu and Sumeeth squandered an opening game advantage to go down fighting 21-19 20-22 14-21 against second seeds Adam Cwalina and Przemyslaw Wacha of Poland in the summit clash at the International Challenge tournament.
The Indian pair, who had got a bye in the first round, had
defeated Sweden's Richard Eidestedt and Andy Hartono Tandaputra, France's Bastian Kersaudy and Gaetan Mittelheisser and Poland's Milosz Bochat and Lukasz Moren en route to their final appearance at the Sportovni Hala Kralovka.
Manu and Sumeeth had finished runners-up at the US Open last week, before winning the Lagos Open to break into the top 20. The current World No 19 pair clinched the Belgian International title and reached the finals of Guatemala International Challenge this month.
