National School Athletic Meet to begins in Kerala from Jan 29

In Kerala, preparations for the 61st National School Athletic Meet are in full swing at Kozhikode. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the Meet at Medical College Ground on January 29. The Registration of the athletes will begin today at the special counters arranged in a city school. 

Teams from six states including Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Utharakhand have already



reached at the state. Special reception Counters are arranged in two Major Railway stations to help the athletes. 

Around 3000 athletes from throughout the country will participate in the event begins on Friday. The state cabinet has agreed to release Rs 2 crore to conduct the meet. The Torch Relay of the meet will start today from Trikkottur school where Olympian PT Usha studied
