Wimbledon: In Tennis, Novak Djokovic reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon for the 13th time in his career by beating Tim van Rijthoven. The World No. 3 Serbian player produced a spirited display to surpass Dutch player Tim van Rijthoven 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 in Men's Singles Round of 16 on Centre Court at All England Club in London.
With this victory, Djokovic has set up a mouth-watering quarter-final clash with Jannik Sinner of Italy. Sinner produced a high-quality all-round performance to beat Carlos Alcaraz 6-1, 6-4, 6-7(8), 6-3 at the grass-court major.
Belgian David Goffin won against American Frances Tiafoe 7-6, 5-7, 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 to reach the quarter-finals. Goffin,
ranked No 58, will face No 9 seed British player Cameron Norrie. Cameron defeated Tommy Paul 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals.
In Women's Singles, No. 3 seed Ons Jabeur, Marie Bouzková, Jule Niemeier, and Tatjana Maria have already entered the quarter-finals.
Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and her Croatian partner Mate Pavic have reached the mixed doubles quarterfinals after receiving a walkover in their Round of 16 matches. Sania and Pavic were set to face Ivan Dodig and Latisha Chan in the pre-quarters. The Indo-Croatian pair will now take on Australian-Canadian pair of John Peers and Gabriela Dabrowski in the quarterfinals today.
