Olympics: India hockey team in tears after losing semi-final in Paris

India players were in tears after losing their semi-final match to Germany in the Paris Olympics on Tuesday, 6 August.

India failed to win the match despite their best effort against Germany and lost 2-3. After their final attack went just over the goal post, the Indian players sunk to the pitch.

India captain Harmanpreet Singh said after the match that the team gave its best on the pitch, but



the result just did not come for them tonight. India will be competing for the bronze medal.

The players looked dejected after what was an absolute thriller against Germany. The lack of conversion from Penalty Corners and missing Amit Rohidas turned out to be key reasons for India's loss.

India would have ended their 44-year-wait for the finals in case they would have beaten Germany on Tuesday.
