21-year-old Priyanshu Rajawat showed signs of his immense potential as he reached his maiden Super 300 final at Orleans Masters on Saturday. The World No. 58 defeated World No. 35 Nhat Nguyen in straight sets in the men's singles semi-final.
Priyanshu Rajawat came up with an attacking masterclass as he fired in those jump smashes to completely dominate Nguyen, winning the semi-final 21-12, 21-9. Notably, Priyanshu was part of India's Thomas Cup-winning team and
this was his first major final on the BWF tour.
Priyanshu has been in fine form at Orleans Masters as he defeated World No. 12 Kenta Nishimoto in the second round after outclassing his compatriot Kiran George in the opener.
Priyanshu will face Magnus Johannsen, World No. 49 from Denmark in the final on Sunday.
Priyanshu's run to the final came after PV Sindhu finished as runner-up at Madrid Spain Masters last week.
