Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met and felicitated the medal winners of the 2018 Asian Para Games. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Modi expressed happiness at receiving the medal winners.Appreciating their performance, he remarked that their mental strength was a key factor in their success. 

The Prime Minister complimented them for contributing to raising India's profile on the global stage. Mr Modi also expressed appreciation for the coaches of the medal winners. 

He urged the athletes to keep up their spirit of optimism and persevere to achieve even greater heights.

Sports Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore and Social Justice and



Empowerment Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot also felicitated the medal winners of Asian Para Games-2018.

Speaking on the occasion, Col. Rathore said, the year 2018 is very historic in terms of sports as Indian players have bagged medals in every field related to it. He said, a centre of excellence is being opened at Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat for Divyaang athletes. 

He said, the Narendra Modi government has taken several steps to promote sports in the country. 

Congratulating the medal winners, Col. Rathore said, these players are the icon of the whole country and the government will provide all possible support to these athletes.
