Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to meet India's Paris Olympics contingent on Independence Day, 15 August. PM Modi is expected to meet the contingent at around 1 pm after the Independence Day function. India Today has learnt that the complete Indian contingent of 117 athletes is expected to be present on 15 August for the function. The PM, after his morning formalities will be meeting the athletes who
brought back 6 medals for India from the Olympics.
The PM has already spoken to the medal winners over the phone right after their achievements in Paris. He also extended his support to athletes who just fell short of the podium. Modi had tweeted out his support for wrestler Vinesh Phogat who was disqualified from her final bout in women's 50kg category after failing to make the weight.
