Three matches are scheduled for today in the FIFA World Cup being hosted by Russia.
In the first encounter, Portugal will take on Morocco in Group B at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow at 5:30 pm. In the second game, Uruguay will face Saudi Arabia in Group A at Rostov-On-Don at 8:30 pm. The third and final match will be played between Iran and Spain in Group B at Kazan at 11:30 pm.
Meanwhile, in the Group A match played at Saint Petersburg yesterday, Russia beat Egypt 3-1 to virtually seal their place in the last 16. The
hosts lead the Group with six points, following two wins. They had earlier defeated Saudi Arabia 5-nil. Egypt who lost to Uruguay earlier, are yet to open their account.
In the two Group H fixtures, Senegal beat Poland 2-1 at Moscow's Spartak Stadium, while Japan defeated Colombia 2-1 at Saransk. Japan became the first Asian side ever to beat a South American team at the World Cup. The Japanese also avenged their 4-1 mauling in the group stages of the last World Cup in Brazil in 2014.
