Basel: In badminton, four Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy and Parupalli Kashyap have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Swiss Open badminton tournament at St. Jakobshalle Basel in Switzerland.

Double Olympic medallist Sindhu eased into the last 8 with a 21-19, 21-14 win over Neslihan Yigit of Turkey, World Championships silver winner Srikanth staged a comeback after going down in the first game against France's Christo Popov in the Super 300 tournament.

HS Prannoy also staved off a



spirited challenge from Finland's Kalle Kolionen to emerge victorious 19-21, 21-13, 21-9 to secure a quarter-final berth. Former Commonwealth Games gold medallist Parupalli Kashyap entered the last eight after getting a walkover from Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen.

Next, Sindhu will square off against fifth seed Canada's Michelle Li while seventh-seeded Srikanth will face second-seeded Dane Anders Antonsen today. On the other hand, HS Prannoy will take on Parupalli Kashyap in the quarterfinals.
