P V Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth have advanced to the quarterfinals of the China Open in the respective single's categories.
In Fuzhou on Thursday, Olympic and two-time World Championship silver medallist, Sindhu stamped her authority with a 21-12 21-15 win over Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan in the second round. Sindhu will face China's He Bingjiao tomorrow.
Srikanth managed to a come-from-behind 10-21 21-9 21-9 win over Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto in men's singles
match.
He will face Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien Chen, who won a silver medal at the Jakarta Asian Games this year.
Srikanth had won the China Open in 2014.
In Men's doubles Indian pair of Satvick Sairaj Rinkireddy and Chirag Shetty have entered into the quarterfinals of the event they defeated Indonesian pair of W.N. Arya Pangkaryanira and Ade Yusuf Santasho 16-21, 21-14 and 21-15. In the next round, Indian pair will take on Mohd. Ehsaan and Hendra Setivan of Indonesia.
