In badminton, the Indian Shuttlers, PV Sindhu, Malvika Bansod, and Lakshya Sen have stormed into the pre-quarterfinals at the China Masters 2024 Tournament in Shenzhen, China, yesterday. Sindhu defeated Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Malaysia, 21-17, 21-19, in the Women’s Singles first round. On the other hand, Malvika beat Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt of Denmark, 20-22, 23-21, 21-16, in another Women’s Singles match, despite losing the first game.

Meanwhile, another Indian shuttler, Lakshya Sen, triumphed over the seventh seeded Lee



Jii Zia of Malaysia, 21-14, 13-21, 21-13, in the men’s singles first round a short while ago.

India’s premier men’s doubles pair, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, will also be in action at the China Masters today. They will take on the pair of Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan of Taiwan. Meanwhile, in the women’s doubles, India’s Treesa Jolly and her partner Gayatri Gopichand will lock horns with another Taiwanese duo, Hu Ling Fang and Jheng Yu Chieh.
