Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu suffered a setback when she fell three places to 15th in the latest women's singles BWF World rankings, which were released on Tuesday. Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, currently has 51,070 points from 13 tournaments.

The 27-year-old, who will compete in this week's Canada Open Super 500, has appeared out of sorts this season after returning from a five-month injury layoff following a stress fracture on her ankle while en route to Commonwealth Games gold in August last year. Sindhu's season highlights have been a final finish at the Madrid Spain Masters Super 300 and a semifinal at the Malaysia Masters Super 500, following early exits from a number of events at the start of the year.

Sindhu is India’s most decorated badminton player in history and excelled in major tournaments, winning the inaugural BWF World Tour Finals in 2018

and earning silver medals at the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and BWF World Championships in 2018. PV Sindhu became India's first badminton world champion in 2019, defeating Nozomi Okuhara in the final. She also made history by winning the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, becoming the first Indian woman and only the second Indian athlete - after Sushil Kumar - to win two individual Olympic medals.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are India's top-ranked men's doubles players, ranked third in the world. The best-ranked Indian in the men's singles is HS Prannoy, who is ranked eighth, while Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth are ranked 19th and 20th, respectively. Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand dropped one spot to 17th in women's doubles. Men's doubles pair MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila are ranked 26th, while Rohan Kapoor and N Sikki Reddy are ranked 33rd in the latest rankings.
