Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer advance to quarterfinals of French Open

Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Stanislas Wawrinka, Sloane Stephens and Johanna Konta are among those who have advanced to the quarterfinals of the French Open at Paris. World number two Nadal, who is the defending champion from Spain, defeated Juan Ignacio Londero of Argentina. 

Third seed Federer, the 20-time Grand Slam champion from Switzerland, beat another Argentine Leonardo Mayer. 24th placed Swiss Wawrinka outplayed



sixth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece in a marathon five-setter.

In Women's Singles, American Sloane Stephens beat Spaniard Garbine Muguruza, while Konta became the first British woman to enter the quarterfinals since 1983.

India's campaign in the tournament ended after Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Marius Copil bowed out in Men's Doubles third round.
