Bengaluru: Rising Pune Supergiant beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 27 runs in an Indian Premier League encounter, here on Sunday.
Batting first, Rising Pune Supergiants scored a respectable 161 for 8 despite a middle-order collapse. In reply, RCB were restricted to 134 for 9.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (28) and Steve Smith (27) added 59 runs for the third wicket
after a 63-run opening stand between Rahul Tripathi (31) and Ajinkya Rahane (30).
A lot of credit should go to Manoj Tiwary for his 11- ball-27 that went a long way for Pune to reach 161 for 8 after being reduced to 130 for 7 at one stage.
Pune now have four points from five games while RCB remained on two points after their fourth defeat in five games.
