In US Open Tennis, Rohan Bopanna and his Mixed Doubles team-mate Gabriela Dabrowski bowed out from the Mixed Doubles this morning.
In their quarterfinal match, the seventh seeded Indo-Canadian pair lost to the third placed Kiwi-Taiwanese duo of Michael Venus and Hao-Ching Chan, 6-4, 3-6, 8-10. With this, India's campaign in Mixed Doubles has ended. Sania Mirza in the Women's Doubles is the only Indian left in the tournament.
Meanwhile, in the Singles, 19-year old Russian Andrey Rublev has
become the youngest man to reach the US Open quarter-finals since Andy Roddick in 2001.
In his fourth round match, Rublev got the better of ninth seed David Goffin in straight sets, 7-5, 7-6, 6-3, to storm into his first Grand Slam quarter-final and set up a last-8 clash with world number one Rafael Nadal.
This year's Australian Open and Wimbledon winner Roger Federer, top seed Karolina Pliskova and American CoCo Vandeweghe have also made it to the quarterfinals.
