Rohan Bopanna and Edouard Roger-Vasselin have entered the Men's Doubles second round at the French Open, the second Grand Slam of the season, in Paris. In the opener last night, the 13th seeded Indo-French pair defeated the American team of Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, 6-3, 6-1 to progress.
The Indian duo of Yuki Bhambri and Divij Sharan will meet the Indo-French pair of Purav Raja and Fabrice Martin in the first round
today.
Earlier, in the Singles, Yuki, the only Indian in the category, crashed out in the opening round after losing to Belgian Ruben Bemelmans.
However, 10-time Roland Garros winner and world number one Rafael Nadal, 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and third seeds Garbine Muguruza and Marin Cilic were among those who advanced to the second round.
