Defending champions India have booked a semifinal spot in the South Asian Football Federation Cup. In Dhaka yesterday, they beat Maldives 2-0 to finished on top of Group B with six points. Nikhil Poojary scored the first goal in the 36th minute, while Manvir Singh netted the second in the 45th minute.
India will
play Pakistan in the semifinal on Wednesday. India will be playing Pakistan in an official match after a gap of five years. The last time the two teams had met in an official match was also in SAFF Championship in Kathmandu in September 2013.
India had won 1-0 on that occasion.
