Saina Nehwal entered the pre-quarterfinals of the Korea Open in Seoul yesterday. 

She beat Korea's Kim Hyo Min 21-12, 21-11 in the opening round contest. Fifth-seeded Saina will face a local qualifier Kim Ga Eun next. 

However, Sameer Verma who along with Saina Nehwal led the Indian challenge crashed out after losing to Denmark's Anders Antonsen.

shuttler Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka also bowed out in women's singles. 

Ajay Jayaram and young women shuttlers Vaidehi Choudhari and Mugdha Agrey are yet to play their respective singles matches in the qualifying round. 

Kidambi Srikanth has opted out the tournament after playing tournaments in Japan and China in the last two weeks.
