Sania Mirza and her Chinese team-mate Shuai Peng have entered the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Masters. In the pre-quarterfinals late last night, the fourth seeded pair defeated the German-Ukrainian team of Julia Goerges and Olga Savchuk, 7-5, 6-4. They will play their quarterfinal match later today. 

In Men’s Doubles, Rohan Bopanna and his Croatian partner Ivan Dodig will be seen in action in the Round-of-16 today. Leander Paes and Alexander Zverev had crashed out in the



opening round.

In Men's Singles, India's campaign ended as Ramkumar Ramanathan bowed out after losing to American Jared Donaldson in a second round match.

Rafael Nadal made it to the pre-quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Frenchman Richard Gasquet. Nadal was assured overtaking Britain's injured Andy Murray atop the rankings next week after Roger Federer withdrew due to a back injury. Nadal will play for a quarterfinal berth tonight.
