New York: In US Open, the wild card entrants in the women's doubles Sania Mirza and American Coco Vandeweghe were knocked out of the tournaments after they lost to Nadia Kichenok of Ukraine and Raluca Olaru of Romania 6-4, 4-6, 3-6 in the first-round clash.
While the
Indian-American duo won the first set, they failed to carry the momentum and were broken early by Olaru and Kichenok who fought back and won the second set. In the final set, Sania and Vandeweghe were outplayed 3-6 and were eliminated from the tournament.
