Sarita, Lovlina enter seminfinals of Asian Women's Boxing Championship

L Sarita Devi, Sonia Lather and Lovlina Borgohain have entered the semifinals of the Asian Women's Boxing Championships at Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

By reaching the last four stage yesterday, all three boxers assured themselves of medals. 

Sarita, a former world champion, in 64 kg category, defeated Maftunakhon Melieva of Uzbekistan, while Sonia in 57kg category edged past Kazakhstan's Nazym Ichshanova in the



quarterfinals. 

Borgohain in 69 kg category defeated Erdenetuya Enkhbaatar of Mongolia by an unanimous decision.

On Saturday, Olympic medallist Mary Kom, Shiksha in the 54 kilogram category and Priyanka Chaudhary in the 60 kilogram category booked their places in the semoifinals. Five-time world champion Mary Kom in the 48 kilogram category will face Japan's Tsubasa Komura in the semi-final tomorrow.
