Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty rise to career-high No. 5, HS Prannoy back to top 10 in badminton world rankings

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty rose to a career-high No. 5 in the BWF World Rankings, updated on Tuesday, December 20. The Indian men's doubles pair was rewarded for consistent performances in the 2022 season.

Satwik and Chirag won titles at the India Open Super 500 and French Open Super 750. The young pair had a breakthrough year in terms of major tournaments,



a year after agonizingly missing out on a knockout berth at the Tokyo Olympics. Satwik and Chirag were part of the Thomas Cup winning team while they also won the Commonwealth Games gold and a bronze in the World Championships.

Their unprecedented success is reflected in the ranking as the duo jumped two places to the top five with 75,806 rating points from 15 tournaments.
