Spain coach Luis Enrique has left his job after the country was knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2022. Spain suffered an embarrassing loss against Morocco after failing to convert a single penalty in the shoot-out, after the game had been tied 0-0 in added time.
Pablo Sarabia, Carlos Soler and Sergio Busquets missed penalties a day after Enrique had said that Spain players had
been given the homework to shoot 1000 penalties. After the game, Enrique, the former FC Barcelona manager took blame for the defeat.
"This is not the right time to talk about my future," Enrique had said in the press conference after the match.
"My contract is going to end, as you know, but I am very happy with the national team," the manager had further added.
