Football federations of US, Canada and Mexico appear set to launch a joint bid for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Federations said, they will make a historic announcement in New York tomorrow. President of the Canadian Federation, Victor Montagliani said, a joint bid for the 2026 World Cup between the three countries was being
discussed.
FIFA will designate a host for the 2026 edition in 2020. US had last organised the World Cup in 1994. Mexico has hosted the event twice, in 1970 and 1986. There has been only one World Cup hosted by multiple nations, the 2002 edition in Japan and South Korea. The 2026 World Cup will expand to 48 teams from 32.
